JENESISDS 0.7.4 love the emu man, just some questions1. have you given up on jenesisDS? 2. have you noticed the sound on some games ain't quite right, like occassional electronic screechs? <Crue Ball (U) [!]> 3. what stops you doing scaling? -------------------------------- as i said love the emu. can i offer some suggestions?
most homebrew cards have RAM, why not take advantage of it? some homebrew cards have a CPU in them, that should provide power for jenesisDS. ---------------------------------- a random idea how about multiplay between DS's? could use a DS as a dedicated server and have upto four clients! please keep up your work

this emu is great, though two things it really needs in an update are - the ability to hide the JEnesisDS screen, making it go off to save battery life while playing the game and the ability to switch screens on the ds from top to bottom.

jEnesis has to be one of the best emulators I've used on a DS, bar none. Despite a few minor details regarding the menu(esp. that it's very finicky on a DSLite), it runs most games I've tried very nicely. The decision to have sound processed through the system's own hardware is a stroke of genius, and I wish more programmers would take this route since it obviously leaves the CPU more able to run the game at top speed. Thanks a ton for your work. I can only imagine the time it took to get things to this point. (Maybe I'll finally get around to finishing Shining in the Darkness now that I can have it with me everywhere~)

Nice Emulator jEnesisDS... Would you consider horizontal scaling, I dont mind if it will be tiny, just to see it all. I believe, it wont be that much of work, when there is vertical scaling... Hope you will consider it :D, best of luck, ZZ

Congrats on SEGA picking up your jEnesisDS work for Sonic Classic Collection DS.I just wish they hadn't chosen to gimp the games by removing the cheats as much they did though.

Excelent work. Are you planning to create a java applet, so that the emulator could be embedded on a browser? That would be an excelent feature for this emulator.

Hi there.I am writing to leave feedback of JEnisisDS 0.7.4 What great work you did, It does NOT need RAM expansion, just works great, for example I tried SMS 8 bit emulation on DS Sonic 2 and it was to slow. With your emulation of Genesis that is 16bit console Sonic 2 had no slowdowns even with the "red shoe". Just 1 problem... The screen, I am sure you can fix it to the DS resolution just give it a try and it will be a perfect emulator. Thanks

I couldn't run the apprenticeMinusDS, the emulator just doesn't recognize the roms, i've tried sonic and mickey mania. It shows the mickey rom file but when i try to run it nothing happens...About the Jenesis, why the screen doesn't fit the DS screen??? I have to play the games with half of screen, the only thing that helps is to press X to get the screen on the middle. That's just basic, the screen MUST fit the DS screen... =/. If that's a error that's just awful, they did such a great work by running the games and the games doesn't fit the screen.

I forget to talk about jEnesisDS. Thanks for it too!Can I request one Little feature? * Partial Screen Swap. There is no emulator that does this on DS, I wish i have the time to implement this on every emulator in DS that would benefit from this =P What would be this? ------ Well... the DS has 2 screens, why not use the other screen to render part of the image? Just swap the top or the Bottom of the redered image to te other screen. It would be great for games that use a big horizontal part of the screen for a HUD, like Alien Soldier, Bomberman. And For 256x224 resolution games (like Turtles, Wonder Boy / Monster World) would be *perfect*. I hate scaling in the DS screen, no emulator seens to do this in a good looking way like the PSP ones =(

Thanks a lot for ApprenticeMinusDS, it runs perfectly for anything i tried.I Just hope you can implement a save state menu /button (like in jenesis) or anything to show dumb people that dont read the readme.txt (like me) how to open the save state menu. I just knowed that there is a Save State option in the emulator after beating Wonder Boy 3 using passwords and pressing accidentally L+R... LOL Yes, you can Laugh at Me. ;D

Hi, I'm here to say thanks about your ApprenticeMinusDS emulator. I never had a GameGear or a SMS but with your emulator is almost like the real thing. I really love playing games like Enduro Racer, Phantasy Star I and Gaiden, GG Aleste and Ninja Gaiden on my DS. Hope you keep updating ApprenticeMinusDS (last version I have is 0.4.0).

For the people who ask for horizontal scaling: Lordus stated (several times) that this feature is impossible in jenesisds beacause of the way the emu works. So its not a bug, its just the way it works. There are some games that fit horizontally perfect beacause they have a res that fits in the ds width. I think that the emu only lacks of:*Big rom support (for example: Sonic3+Sonic&Knuckles). *Compatibility improved (its ok now, but always more is better) *Better save system (for those who use it) Now there are things you can do for better "horizontal" playing: *L scrolls the screen horizontally left. *R scrolls the screen horizontally right. *X centers the screen horizontally. *Theres an option "Follow DPAD" that causes the screen to scroll in the direction that the DPAD points. I hope that this helps in some way.
